Got motive?

If you follow Act4Murder and know anything at all about us, you know that I am the author of all 28 of these comedic murder mysteries.  So here's something to think about:  If I wrote a murder mystery where the killer was just some crazy psychopath who had no real motive other than the desire to satisfy his own bloodthirstiness, would that be appropriate for comedic dinner theater?  I contend it would not be appropriate, and that it would make the majority of you uncomfortable.  So for those few who wonder why the characters argue with one another throughout the night, I'd like to point out that if I don't give them motives, it makes no sense that someone would end up dead.  And since these are MURDER mysteries, someone is actually going to end up dead.  Just something to think about.

My 15-seconds of FAME!

I just received an email from a world-famous actor-turned-motivational-speaker asking to read one of my scripts for a play he wants to produce in Ohio.  I have to say I'm pretty flattered.  I hope he likes the play. I'm very nervous waiting to hear back from him.  I'm all tongue-tied and star-struck.  And inspired.  This could be another comedy in the making, but of course, it would end in MURDER….  ~~ Paula

That warm and fuzzy feeling...

I get my hair done at a really cool place called As You Like It, located in Ft. Walton Beach.  When they answer the phone, they say, "It's a great day at As You Like It," which I always like because right off the bat you start feeling like you're having a great day too.  And that's how I'm feeling right now!  It's a great day at Act4Murder!  We have a fantastic show planned for tonight at the Crab Island Cantina in HarborWalk Village, I'm kind-of sort-of caught up on all my "normal" work for the day, and we already found one car for our magnet give-away for July!  It really is a great day at Act4Murder!  ~~ Paula

Dazed and Confused!

This summer is just flying by!  With two shows a week we are beyond busy here at Act4Murder (which is where the "Dazed and Confused" thing comes in), but still are able to find the time to promote our shows at HarborWalk Village and the Boardwalk, pick up a couple more venues for the fall, and most importantly… getting our next new show written!  It's called REDNECK RIVALRY and is going to be out just in time for Halloween.  I'm pulling out all the stops for this one folks - another MUST SEE!

This makes the 29th show I've written to date.  I have a sort of hazy goal of 50, in that I'm not sure when I want to have that 50th show written, but with all the ideas hanging around in my head, I'm optimistic it'll happen!

Anyway, here are a few shots of some shows and activities we've been involved in the past couple of months.  Come see us at Crab Island Cantina in Destin for some LIVE action, or two more opportunities at Angler's on Okaloosa Island.

And like I said… we are busy, busy, busy, but having a blast.  The private parties are starting to come in for the fall, Halloween and Christmas, and a really BIG show in January.  Nothing like being swamped!

Which reminds me… private parties are our specialty.  Call me and schedule yours!  With (almost) 29 shows, I'm pretty sure we have something for everyone, but call me and let's chat about it!  ~~ Paula (850) 862-2885
